Blackle
I feel like someone blogged about this, but I was reminded of www.blackle.com. It is powered by google custom search, but the screen is primarily black so supposedly it saves energy. A student in my class says that it doesn't really save energy because of the new computer screens, but I think it's an interesting concept.

I realize that Blackle is part of the Google family, but I was surprised that it doesn't have all the same bells and whistles. When I tried looking up "Siberian Husky" for example, it provided me with websites, but not the option to check out images, videos, or the other tabs that Google has to offer. But it does look pretty neat, especially when you're feeling edgy!
